    New lodgings!

So the time had come to move closer to town! Working in Grey Lynn, and living in Manukau was sucking the life out of me, especially in the winter months where I'd leave for work in the dark and get back in the dark.

It was with great delight when a mate sent a mass text asking if anyone was looking for a flat in Orakei, as two of his flatmates had just handed in their 2 weeks notice just as he was preparing to go to Aussie for a month for business. Being the helpful person I am, I quickly replied with a "when can I move in?" One week later and I was moved in and unpacking the boxes.

Have to say, I am thrilled at the new commute time of 15 minutes (push-able to 10 when I'm feeling like an adrenaline boost or running late). While I really have only gained about an hour in the day, it's the most meaningful hour (ie. morning sleep in).

Have also noticed there's a crap load of bikes going past the house in the mornings/afternoons/nights. So if you're in the area or regularly travel Paritai Drive, keep an eye out for me cleaning/stroking the lean green bike (obsessive compulsive cleaning and a lack of a backyard means I'm out the front quite a bit). Always keen for a chat/beer!

Paritai Drive? The neighbours must have seen you move in, looked at the bike, and said to each other "Oohhh, Dahhhhling, there's goes the neighbourhood...".
It’s diametrically opposed to the sanitised existence of the Lemmings around me in the Dilbert Cartoon hell I live in; it’s life at full volume, perfect colour with high resolution and 10,000 watts of amplification.

Nah. They just look out the window and say "Ooohhh myy. It's those dastardly Renters again."
