Nah - I'm a futurist, but do enjoy an occasional look back.

Wazzat, 1964? I remember that playing on the radio when I was a kid, reclining on the back seat of my dad's old Opel Rekord (the size of a Chevy), looking out the window, on the way back from a day at the beach.

I looked back once and got lost. Some say I'm still lost.

Nice. I had an uncle that worked in R&D at Holden in Sydney.
My old man had a X2 HD sort of about about then - he got all the go fast cars.
He also had one of the first Toranas - gutless 4cyl with a vinyl roof.

HD X2? My memories of those were blow by and oil leaks - the red motor could last for years, but the X2 was too much and they were rooted by 70,000 miles.Taxi drivers used to get an X2 Premiere and take out the 179 and fit a 149 or 161.

I had an X2 twin carb set up for my HG....to get a bit more power back after I converted it to CNG.

I don't recall if my old man's stood for Holden's Disaster or not. It was the first HSV of sorts though.

Whereas I dropped a 192 long motor in my 149 EH wagon and got expert at replacing exchange gearboxes and diffs.

    When I was a kid I always said, I wanted to grow up and live with the Flintstones...until I realised i wasn't a cartoon....what a disappointment that was...sniff! sniff!
