    Support rims for a 250 MC16

Who can help with a set of rims that will fit my MC16 bucket?

    im building up my SL100..
definately want to keep the original wheels, so it's all stock (it's a 1970 model)..
i cant physically go any wider either..

are there slicks available in these sizes or am i dreaming?
if they are a no go, what would be the next best for the track?

front - max poss. tyre width 80 (stock is 70 or 2.75) @ 19 inch

rear - max poss. tyre width 90 (stock is 82.5 or 3.25) @ 17 inch

I've got one each SL and XL 100 frames sitting in the shed taking up space, I know the wheels on them aren't the same sizes and can have a look sometime over the weekend if you like.

Slicks you'll be able to get 17s, any other size the tyres will be 90 years older than god.

Sorry bud, you are not just dreaming but delusional. 19" slicks, ho ho.

Not trying to be mean (it comes naturally) but slicks are only made for race bikes & in the last 20 years that meant 17".

Your rear rim will be 1.6 wide or close & will only suit a skinny tyre. a 90 slick needs ideally a 2.5" rim, but you can get away with a 2.15.

So you have a nice little SL you want to keep stock. Put some Trials tyres on it & spin it around the place keeping it in good order if that's what you want.

Then go buy a bucket & find some decent tyres/wheels to match.
Don't you look at my accountant.
He's the only one I've got.

I've got those two rolling frames I need to lose, forks on one look like they might be less rusty than yours.

Maate. check out Alex Hockly of Heidenau tyres. I will send you the email addy via PM. He gets in all sorts of odd sized rubber in modern compounds for classic racers. Super sticky tyres.

If you find it, flick me a PM/email and I'll take the van to work and pick it up from your work. I'm in Otahuhu, so it's not that far away. Forgot to ask you on the weekend about it

    17 inch Wheels

Not sure if the swing arm is the same. But I have been working on an XR100. I managed to get a FZR 17 inch to fit into the rear with a 115 x 17 Slick. As for the front end I had a nicely setup CB125 twin forks and FZR front wheel. The forks fitted straight into the original tripple clamps. The only issue might be with the stock rear shocks .. Should be a good F5 tho (when I get round to finishing it !!)
