    It'll be fine to patch up and keep as a spare, wouldnt want to pay any freight on it though .... oops, did I say that out aloud?

    Er.... can you fix it up and give it a paint as well?

    Actually i finally just found the article on how to make a one piece fiberglass i could remember there was a trick to keep the resin from eating the polystyrene male before petrol or resin was tipped into the one piece fuel thank to dissolve it.
    The trick was too paint the polystyrene with emulsion paint first.
    Of course the resultant finish will not be as nice as using a female mold but for one off''s its a neat trick.

    I was also talking to a panel beater who also dabbles with fibreglass and he said they sometimes have used Glad Wrap for similar stuff but no idea how it would last with petrol.

    when i refind the article i will post it in the chassis thread.

    It had some other tricks for Radius on corners as well Plastercine (i think) it was for when making a female molds out of males pattern and using hardwood shinny side up etc. All stuff i guess the pro's would know, or have moved on from and forgotten i guess.
