Been here 7 years longer to

2 exhaust valves, plenty of people have fucked more Bikes than me, think I've only done 5 engines in total but three of those were other peoples and all big ends, thought Mike was going to do that many one bad afternoon at Ruapuna

I think the tank will stay

After a frustrating rear tyre change last night I come to put the tyre back on the bike and the meat from the brake pad snaps off

I doubt it was my manly strength, on closer inspection it looks like it has rusted and become brittle.

Anyway, I am in need of some rear pads, does anyone have some serviceable ones or have a link to an obscure generic site to order them off before I contact our friends at Cycletreads?

Just clean up the surfaces and glue them back on. Unless you actually use the rear brake, then you really don't wanna do that.

Funny thing, I did think of that for a moment till I realised I did use it at Mt Wellington (anti-clockwise) when going onto the main straight if I was going too wide, so its probably best I get a vaguely functional set.

I suggest you raise the rear ride height. Lowering the front works too, but I prefer to start with the rear as it is easier.

If you have decent suspension, you could also add some preload to the rear spring.

But still, new pads would be a good idea. I know a few people who just wouldn't understand why they were glued in there, after they copped it in the throat or summat.

I've probably got some half worn ones in the toolbox. Also have some new ones I'd rather hang onto. Look me up in the morning at the track if you get stuck.
Front and rear pads are the same by the way.
    Stock is best

Looking for a throttle tube for my FXR. Got quoted a $55 for a replacement oem one! Looking for any alternatives within $15, a quick throttle would be nice, but there's no budget for it at the moment.

I may get the reputation of becoming needy, but getting up and running in buckets an't free.

Right, next problem - getting the bike there - trailer hire is like $50 a day :O

Right, so does anyone going to the racing on the weekend have space for an extra bike who lives around torbay? Beers / Petrol cost contributed.

Or, does anyone else in the area hire a trailer and wants to go in harvies?

Or, does anyboy near by have a trailer they want to loan out for Beers?

I would ride it down, but I might attract attention.
