Doesn't have to be from an FXR, and if it has an extra wire it is easy to still make it work.

Right, next problem - getting the bike there - trailer hire is like $50 a day :O

Right, so does anyone going to the racing on the weekend have space for an extra bike who lives around torbay? Beers / Petrol cost contributed.

Or, does anyone else in the area hire a trailer and wants to go in harvies?

Or, does anyboy near by have a trailer they want to loan out for Beers?

I would ride it down, but I might attract attention.
Pete Jones used to ride his 1930's Dunlet from Southland to Greymouth whip of the lights and number plate race all day and ride home probably a 1000km round trip.

But what you want is a mount for your towbar like a pushbike ones only stronger.the square towbars make this easier of course.
Plenty of people used to have similar ones where they towed the bike with the front wheel off the ground as well.
I bet you could get the material for cheaper than $50 if you were inventive or innovative enough. Failing that a Ute can be useful.

ACC has put PAY to the plan of riding to the track, legally anyway.

However, this http://hildstrom.com/projects/mototow/index.html is probably the solution I will pursue.

So, who is good at welding stuff in Auckland? Can anyone willing and able to supply metal and build The Motorcycle Towbar PM me? Payed of course - cash not back tickles.

My towbar is solid as and was one of those removable tongues, although I imagine removing the ball and bolting it in would probably be easiest.

One problem with this idea - technically anything with a wheel on the ground MUST be registered, therefore your race bike is illegal to use as a "trailer"

Who the hell wants to wear out their soft race tyre driving Auckland distances to the track?
Don't you look at my accountant.

This may be an issue, will have to stop the nearest Plod and ask. Mmm, wonder if it could be re-registered as a trailer - would be fun trying to hook up the indicators etc...

Nobody uses the center of the tyre on a diesel - there is not enough power for that.

Rego as trailer would be easy enough but wouldnt you be better building an axel with clamps that would grab your swingarm in a trike shape rather than wear out the tires flat.

Trailer need no weld cert etc because light weight. Needs rear reflector, indicators, tail light/stop light, numberplate light. Not hard to make something.

Probably. Three phase wires come into it from the stator, one comes out to the battery, one to earth, and one to a hot wire in the loom.

The last (feedback) wire Drew mentioned may not be on cheapo suzis, but if your replacement one has that wire find a switched wire to splice into. Power to the brake light switch is usually close.

Has anyone got a GSX250 front wheel they want to sell. I am trying to get a set of wets together but only have a rear wheel at the moment.

Darren, that should read GSXR the GSXR ones are different. Impulse are also an easy conversion.
