edit- got some good advice from Bert, to shim some aluminium, pvc or polythene and fit bigger clip ons. Thanks!

I have been hunting around my shed and found a few bits. Nothing much useful at this point unless I sleeve down a slabby gsxr750 to 145cc's. Found a kdx carb and throttle, oh some rear gsxr pegs that might work on the RG. (they are aluminium is that okay or will they need caps or protectors?) I do have a complete gsxr front end but it just wont suit the RG......
    Here you are 27mm clipons

$30 plus post and they live at your house

    all aluminium

Anybody got an FXR shifter linkage to spare, or one off something that I can either cut and weld or chop up and extend with a length of tent peg?
Got the XR motor fitted in my F5 bike and that's about the only thing left to get it finished bar some messing around with jets.

Is there a complete fxr150 for sale in welly area for around the 1k mark. Wife has realised that if I spend little ill need spend lots to make something go well enough to race.

Also question .Are people racing on original fxr rims or replacing them?

The boys at the pointy end change the rims but standard ones are ok ish
I did most of the north island series on standard rims but you do reach the limit too soon and wider is better

There is also a bit of debate over pinched slicks vs threaded tyres. I'm in the pinched slicks camp but if you do down that road make sure you go tubeless, tubes are an arse to get beaded up.

Nothing is a straight bolt in replacement but GSXR250 and impulse seem to be the way to go. Have also seen FZR250

I see theres a hornet rear on tardme but I think its to wide. I guess 3.5 inch rear 3 inch front would be ideal?
