On my H i used some CBX250 shocks which were sort of adequate. I redrilled a hole in the frame & put an axle through to mount them a bit angled over which made them slightly softer than the 250 fitment.
The triple clamp on the GPs is woeful. Needs a better top clamp from memory, I think they were just bolts on top, not fork clamps. On my MB I welded some bottom clamps on the top & filed the holes so you could drop the forks through. This helped in many ways.
