Clubmans Rules?

Are there things I need to "not" do to my GSX-R600 to ensure that I'm eligible for Clubmans in 2010? I don't want to turn up and be told "you have to run in F2 because you have X, Y & Z on it". Fook that, I'm not going to be the first one to get lapped inside 3 laps of a 600cc race

But anyways, you folks that race will get the jist of it. Is it supposed to be a class where you race it pretty much as you ride it for the road, or are you allowed to put shit on it? I do remember that at one time if you were lapping under a certain time then you'd get moved up to F2 (if you were on a 600cc), but not sure if that is still the case. That said, Ican't see me getting into those kinda times for a while yet.

Hi Man.
I can tell you how VMCC run our clubmans class in the Actrix Winter Series. It is very much a run what you brung class that serves two main purposes.
It gives people who are a bit wary of jumping into a championship class, or just want to see how they go at the racing thing, a chance to have a lunge. Secondly, it gives people who have bikes that don't really fit into the other classes, an opportunity to race. It's a non-championship class to stop people staying in there to burgle trophies when they should be moving on. From memory the lap-time cut-off for eviction to another class is around 1.18 for clubmans A. Can't remember Clubmans B. It's a moveable feast though, in that the cut-offs are reviewed each season. A and B are run together. Any other questions just fire away.

Hey stop worrying about it... if you've never raced before or haven't in a long time hop into a clubmans race. You'll know soon enough if you're in the right class or should be movin up.

There are clubmans racers who have a spare set of wheels with wets fitted, tyre warmers, full race exhaust systems fitted, Yoshi Race ECU's, travel with a mechanic etc...

The bike does however need to race prepp'ed ie. lock wired sump plug, replace radiator fluid with water, side stand removed or cable tied up etc.. have a look here :http://www.vicclub.co.nz/tiki-read_a...?articleId=250

I followed the rules for F2 when prepping my R6 for Clubman's. If I get quick enough it's then easy to move up to F2 without worrying about wether your bike qualifies or not.
As previously stated, clubman's is totally open, your bike cannot be under or over-speced.

I believe its set at 1.17 for Manfeild at the mo Clive.

Mark there are NO special rules in clubbie. The only thing is dude if you are doing say 1.14's and the midpack pace for F2 is 1.14 they might move you in there
