    Great rally

It was a really enjoyable rally. I agree with the sentiments about the strippers though - cost them $750 apparently - what a waste of money, it was boring, a bit passe' these days, and quite frankly I wish the band had kept playing instead. Shame the money wasn't spent on something better or donated to a worthwhile cause.
This was the first ride and first rally for my 17yr old son - he followed us up there on the special edition "250" ER6n generously loaned to him by PF. A bit of a coming of age for my lad and I am very pleased I was able to do this with him.

Interesting though that when we filled the bikes up back in Milton the ER6 had used about 1.5l more fuel than a well laden Tiger (2 up with most of the gear) - hmmm, that can't be right. A new air filter is on its way for the ER!!

The other picture is of some Gevuina nuts hanging on one of the trees that we picked today - some of the KB crew over in our corner had a taste of these (roasted ones) and of course no one had ever heard of them - so here's what they look like.

Good to meet up with lots of KB faces and a few new ones - where did Mr Orange Kwaka get to tho??

Hhmmmm Well I was around still when the "can" footy was going on, so had a play at that!! Good Fun!! It was getting to around 2am I think at that stage, so pretty sure I went to bed!! But I often tend to go AWOL....wandering around the place to see what is happening so.............any other thoughts anyone??

Would have been nice to get some sleep but with the wind gusting & howling & the tent flapping, I think I just stayed awake most of the night!! Felt real good the next day tho (not too much to drink!!) and had a fantastic ride back with the Timaru Ulysses guys.

Maybe the ER6 was a bit thirsty was because your son was trying hard to keep up with you! But yeah a freer style Air-filter could help, nice to open up the exhaust a bit too!!
