Kevlar cloth

Anyone know where it can be bought and what it costs? I was thinking of modding a few pair of my jeans. I was just in at a tailors getting a pair of trou taken up, and asked them if they could fit panels into them, like Draggins. They said probably ... but I would need to find the cloth. May be a good idea if it is a reasonable price to buy .... rather than buying a couple of pair of Draggins or other type of kevlar jeans.
Just an idea ....

Has anyone looked at this before ? I couldn't find any mention .... using the "search function" !! lol.

Not sure where the kevlar could be bought from,maybe boating outlet(sails),but the cost of putting kevlar in jeans could be expensive.Hopefully the tailor will open the side seams on the legs and sew the kevlar into the seams,this should make a stronger seam,rather than sewing beside the seam,same as on hips or bum areas.Worth a crack if it can be done to good jeans.

Heaps of places, about $80 a square metre, depending on the weight of cloth you want. Make sure you get some shears just for cutting it though, no point fucking perfectly good ones with it

Best way to cut Kevlar is to stick masking tape to both side of where you want to cut then use super sharp scissors to cut down the middle of the tape

Good point .... don't want to get my arse kicked by her indoors ..... , for munting her dress making scissors ......

At around $80 SqM, it may be touch and go as to whether it's worth it. By the time you get the cloth and pay a tailor to install it .... may be just as cheap to buy Draggins or similar. Worth considering though, having already got a few pair of good jeans that fit well. I've tried on a couple of pair of different kevlar type jeans .... and not been that impressed with the fit/cut of them, .... but I'm a fussy bastard !! lol

Yes I guess fitting it into the seams would be the way to go, as you say ....
It would certainly be stronger! I will just have to work out if it is viable cost wise .... Thanks.

I got a pair of Draggin's you can have for the cost of postage.
They were cut off me by the ambo's so no use to me but would be ideal to strip out the kevlar
