Just got notice today that I have until the 15th to leave my current flat in Albany.
I work in Takapuna, have a car and a bike, am a whizz with computers (my job) and I'm 20. I'd be willing to assess the areas surrounding Takapuna or even just south over the bridge, as long as it's not too far.

It's just that if it's a residential tenancy and you're a co-tenant on the Residential Tenancy Agreement and the Notice to Vacate is not an order from the Tenancy Tribunal, they are required to give you at least 90 days notice or 42 days notice in special circumstances. I don't know your circumstances, but I'm just posting this in case it applies.

Yes I'm flatting now in Albany, basically the setup is that one of my flatmates runs the show, he rents the whole house and then we rent the rooms off him.
He is going overseas and being replaced with new tenants, who will probably want the whole house to themselves.

I'm not going to fight it or anything, I've been thinking about moving closer to work for a while now. It's not that far, but it still takes a fair while to get there during peak hours, even longer in the cage.
My current flat is very new (a year) and pretty flash so wherever I end up going will be a downgrade of sorts, but definitely cheaper. Currently paying $190 a week for a room, garage parking, internet, sky, utils etc

No worries. Just thought I'd let you know, in case you were being dicked about.

When you move to a new place, get a written agreement in place because without it they can kick your arse to teh kerb with no notice otherwise. You can download a sample one here. (I can't say I'd agree to #7 though! If after giving 21-days notice they haven't found another flatmate, I sure wouldn't be paying.)
