Bikers deserve the way people perceive them

I normally have great tolerance for other bikers but sometimes people do things that infuriate drivers and give us all a bad name. Yesterday was one of those days with an experience at the supermarket.

As I entered the parking lot I was aware of the black Ninja 250 following behind me at the same speed. Trying to be courteous, I gave plenty of warning as I slowed down to turn right into another area of the parking lot. Let’s just be clear here, my car never physically stopped.

Apparently when a car is turning right 90 degrees it’s completely acceptable for a low powered bike to zip around it on the right-hand side and then cut it off by veering left in front of it to grab a spot on the footpath. This particular idiot took an unnecessary risk and almost made me collect him. He was in my rear-view mirror one minute then heading for my driver’s door the next. He effectively made me cut him off.

Actions like this piss people off. This person didn’t need to go around a moving vehicle, let alone on the right-hand side of it. His impatience could potentially have cost the taxpayer money through ACC claims and it certainly feeds the negative way that bikers are perceived.

If a fellow biker considers an action to be dangerous and unnecessary, how would a non-biker perceive the same situation? It took all my strength to refrain from knocking some sense into this fucker and telling him to stop ruining my reputation as a biker.

It wasn't my fault, the cage driver didn't see me.

Of course. I wouldn't put a biker at risk of hitting me through not knowing where I was headed.

You're "motoGIRL", and you are contemplating going over to "knock some sense into him"... You're also devoting a thread to the way someone "made you cut them off"... The way you're typing it I wouldn't be surprised if it's not half as bad as you make it out to be. Yes, we all deserve the logo because of cutting someone off... Could have thought of better examples... 280mph literbikes cutting family cars in half, harley riders who are in gangs selling drugs... But hey, road courtesy is pretty up there, too...
Where are the WAAA FUCKING WAAAAAh Tags? None as of yet? Well heres mine.

Don't mean to be a dick about it but, this really seams like a big deal about nothing and it seems comical to me

Well I agree with you MG, and I don't. Sure, bikies piss cars off. They burn cars off all the time (ooooo dunnit make yer mad) and they pass on the white lines where cars can't (grrrrrr) and they have loud zorsts which are designed to irritate, and they park on the fucken footpath where cars aren't allowed to.. AND they skip to the front of queues at traffic lights and road works.. Gawd its enough to make yer wanna smash them all innit?

What I don't get, is after all this disgusting behaviour, is why bikies are so universally loved and respected? Everywhere we turn up on our bikes, everyone wants to stop and chat. In the car, no such thing does, or could possibly happen, unless they were his'n'her ferraris or some such thing.

I don't think cagers hate bikies. All I get is respect on my bike, and I'm cheeky as fuck. I never wait. I pass anyone, anywhere, anytime. If theres a gap I'll use it. If its' legal loophole I'll exploit it. I always go first.

"What Steve said pretty much summed it up."
"I did axactly as you said and it worked...!!"
    "Wow, Great advise there DB."
