I got one! I got one!

For you riders complaining of cars taking your lane - today the Pajero evened the score!

Tonight at the intersection of Hayr/Dornwell rds and Mt Albert rd - a tricky one to describe if you haven't been there, but Dornwell comes up a hill to Mt Albert rd,and Hayr comes across at an angle on the right, both sharing the same entrance to Mt Albert rd.I guess the Dornwell road cars have to give way to Hayr rd,as they are on the right, but we work it out sorta one by one, usually nice and polite.

So tonight I come from Hayr rd,and am the only one at the intersection, get up to the line and wait for a gap on the main road. The Pajero is a heavy vehicle and takes a bit to get moving - but a diesel turbo is not like a petrol turbo,it doesn't need revs, just pressure and heat.Floor it and the turbo is spooling up to max boost at converter stall speed...2000rpm and she's on boost and away!

A slight gap back to a bus - pedal to the metal and I'm OFF! - ...BANG!! Straight into the drivers door of a black XR8 Falcon This silly prick has decided to sneak up the inside of me in a lane of his own making...I backed off and let him park up the road....I got out laughing,it was so funny - his flash near new XR8,nice white shirt and cool hair cut. ''What the hell do you think you were doing mate?''...'oh,I thought you were turning right'....yeah,right...Like I'm pointing at a 45 deg angle down Mt Albert rd and he thinks I'm going to turn right.No....he sees some old diesel Pajero and reckons his mighty V8 is gunna clean it up...think again sport,I ride a bike and can read traffic and get my vehicle underway quicker than some fancy pants car with a nice exhaust.

Damn,my bumper corner is a bit bent - so has anyone got a nice little car sticker I can mount on my drivers door? Cool, made my day

It does worry me if it had of been a bike there instead - you lot be careful out there with your lane splitting eh,could be me cleaning you up if you're a smart arse....

one day. I feel all happy now.
Wouldnt want to encourage you to start a count of stickers on your drivers door like the F 14 pilots have on the cockpit now though :spudbooge

I had an old foresterized Isuzu truck, the back end had all the delicacy of a panzer. I had a woman hit it with a prado. she hit it so hard it rocked the 6 tonne wagon pretty good. I just about couldnt walk I was laughing so hard, I practically fell out of the truck once we pulled over. And completely failed to see the serious side of her glycol spewing mess that was her 4WD.
Took me minutes to scrape the maroon paint off truck.

Scored a skyline as well, that was one pissed off boy racer.

What's with all the humour & pent-up aggression against cages here. Do you lot have a problem sharing the road or something??
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

You going to stamp a 4x4 pic on your truck? Watch out Motu there is always a bigger fish in the sea (good bag both of you but ).

The whole insurance thing pisses me off,I'm not too worried as I have practicaly no damage,I don't think I'll even repair it.But with this guy,and the one who hit my daughter last week - company car...so it goes into the panelbeater next week,he gets a courtesy car for 3 days and then gets his car back looking like brand new...so what did they learn? Absolutly fucking nothing! No consequences for their actions,no penalties whatsoever, arrogent pricks.I guess my attitude didn't really help his,I was laughing at him, passerbys were yelling out - ''he did it,it was his fault'' he knew he was in the wrong, and I gotta hand it to him,he just shut his mouth and wrote down his details, all the while me laughing and needleing him about what he did, didn't bite the bait at all...(has he been coming to KB and knows what I do?)

Yeah, they're good in fender-benders, eh Motu?
Someone came racing up the road behind the missus a few years ago when we had the Pajero. Completely stoved in the side of their car, and the Pajero had a slightly damaged rubber over-rider on the back bumper. Their car was off the road for three or four weeks (and they kept ringing up and bleating about it), and the Pajero was still in action.
Thing that pissed me off is that legally we were at fault, because the wife was backing. BUT (!) there was nobody coming when my wife started backing out, they came around the corner and instead of the silly bunts slowing down or stopping, they try to go around the back of her. She didn't see them, as she checked to the left (clear), right (clear), started backing, and BAM!!
I should've asked to see the other driver's licence, as I suspect she didn't have one (never showed it to us, her bloke did all the talking...) It's bloody hard, as we live on a corner, and it's difficult to see watch both ways and where you're backing.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....
