The Triumphrat website is pretty useful - it has forums for different models of Triumph.

    Speed Triple forum:

I had no problems with my 05 Model, but my 07 has had its starter clutch, starter gears and starter motor replaced, I still have the occasional hiccup at first start up in the morning, but if I leave it to reset for 20 min then try again it will start up successfully. It is not my primary mode of transport and I have found that unless you use the bike more than a couple of times a week that the gel battery will go flat if I am experiencing any intermittent start up problems. As a result I have invested in a battery doc and hook the bike up to it every time that I park the bike up at home. I consider this a minor inconvenience and will upgrade to another Speed triple soon as they are an awesome piece of kit.

It may be a dud battery Scouse? My battery has never had an issue and I ride bugger all during Winter.

Edit: This site is also very handy! http://www.thespeedtriple.com/Forums/index.php

Sorry to take so long to post. My problem is that I'm having suspension problems, I think I'm a bit light (80Kgs after dinner)for the stock settings so I backed off the comp and rebound dampers slightly because it was way to hard. Now I'm finding that the ride is better but I get a 'nervous twitch' in the front when cornering. Have I done the wrong thing? Can I adjust the suspension on my own or will I need to take it to a proffesional? Also, I've done 4500kms on the bike now since new and reckon the motors sounding noisey but I dont know any one with one to compare sounds..

Does your gas cap have to be forced open when you have been for a ride, some of the S3's had a gas cap problem where the breather was blocked causing the tank to develop a vacume insid it, it was a waranty issue the problem you are describing sounds like this may be the issue.

I hadnt noticed but next ride I'll check that, It's like it gets a flat spot in the throttle and is sort of hard to ride round roundabouts etc

Just up the road from ya mate and have been playing a bit with suspension !
Won't go nuts and tell ya where to set it up at, but would help in showing ya some good websites and books if ya want to really learn !
Or i have a really big hammer and a long screw driver lol (triumph tool kit aye Brooke) if ya just want to set ya preloads up for your weight
Tell ya what i hope ya remembered where ya compression and rebound were set to ? Can create a whole lot of whoopass if ya fuck it up !
Owl has the factory settings there somewhere if ya did (you should have a manual too) ! Cant see them changing settings too much over the years and go from shit valving to shitier valving !
The flat spot you talk of, is it more of a dead spot and then it lurches as you try to feather it on the gas ? If so mine did do the same (havent noticed so much of late, but i am giving it a tad more lately !)
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !
