Basically, anything that touches the ground or has the potential to has to be nyloned. Of course, clutch and front brake levers are okay as long as they are balled.
Critical areas are footpegs and handlebar ends.
Safety wire the sump plug (or drain plug for you 2-stroke riders), filler plug, front and rear axle (Split pin or R-clips are okay).

I'm prepared to help get bikes up to standard if need be. I've got plenty of bits of the slidey stuff cut and ready to mount so if any out of towners fail Nudey's clipboard and overcoat inspection we can hopefully get you out on the track

Well if Valentino Rossi can brake into corners with his foot slipping off the peg, then we can !!!

Seriously though, if it won't carve the track up then it's fine.

Hey nudey, put me down for a bit of that nylon - handlebars, pegs, front + rear axels all good, but afraid my exhaust might touch down.

Now, how to mount it? Was thinking something like this? Any suggestions.

The alternative is to extend the crash bung/bobbin I've got below it so it extends beyond the exhaust pipe - but that's a bit far...

Looks like it could work, just make sure none of the mounting bolts stick out as far as the nylon.
Go to Grayley Plastics in Lower hutt for the nylon. Not cheap but well worth it.

    Mint.
Just make sure you put recesses in the nylon so the clips dont stick out over it, a bit of time with a file should sort that.

Hasn't on mine yet but it is spaced off the exhaust.
I would think it might get a bit soft but is unlikley to melt.

Here is a quick pic of how I have done it.
    Nylon block in blue.
I used pop rivets to hold it on, countersunk to keep them lower than the surface.
the bits of steel between the muffler and nylon were about 10mmwide by 2mm thick, I figure they might bend a bit and absorb impact but saty on.
It is yet to be tested.

Looks like I need to get busy with the Nylon..... Sounds freakin' kinky to me but hell, anything goes in Welly, I'm down there for work every week..........

Karl, is your missus gonna give you leave for the long weekend...... Jeez, you must've done somthin' really bad!!!!!!!

Mark and Karl, do you guys wanna travel in convoy? I could probably find a place to stay in Foxton on the way down and the way back. My family has a beach house there.....

Does anybody know exactly where Kaitoki is???? I entered it into my Navman today and it couldn't find the way!!!!!!!!!! It sounds like it's on the south eastern side of the Rimatakas....... Actually, it sounds like a God forsaken hole with a kart track............. Kart track is good...........

Just south of the Rimatakas, refer posts 25 and 26 in this thread.
Kaitoke's redeeming features are the kart track and the Rimatakas, so it's a great place really
