Whats wrong with the 'Biff' during school hours?

It happened almost weekly when I was at High School..76'-78'.....
If two guys want to slug it out for a few minutes then go for it. It was something to look at after one had consumed ones lunch. Normally, the two who were scrapping would end up being dragged of by a teacher and caned. No harm in that either

Though caning does not happen anymore, some other punishment could be found, suspension for a week?

Only been in a good scrap once.
Got sick of this guy snatching my salt&vinegar chip filled, marmite sammitches most lunchtimes.
I saw him coming a few seconds before he was in range and with a twirl of the body and an extended fist, WHABAM at the bottom of the lungs, then punched his nose. Course I only got through half of his mates before they hooked into me, but hot dang did the principal let them have it for 'ganging up on one student'

Shit was worth a saw jaw!

I remember the girl fights on the netball courts. They were usually planned and anticipated. Invariably there was hair flying, and fingernail gouging

No cane for the naughty girls fighting though, not sure what used to happen to them, think they got a stern telling off or something.
Used to love the boys having a go though. Raw testosterone fuelled by the fact that a cute girl might have been observing made for some really horrible fights

That was pretty tough at an all boys school.

The prefects who played rugby always won any biffo at the establishment that was my gleaming example of secondary school education. The two main reasons for that are;

1) they were large and fit.

2) they got away with all sorts of shit because they were 1st 15 prefects and

3)they were soon to be policemen

The THREE main reasons.........

Still exactly the same at my all boys school.

The prefects (aka the 1st XV) can do whatever they want.

Although one minute difference may be that at my school if there is a fight often the prefects will be the ones "breaking it up" although that doesn't necessarily mean they aren't handing any punches out themselves. So more often than not having a fight means possibly taking one or two unprotected from the big boys

You're right; nothing's changed.

Those guys will end up.....security guards, rugby pro's, cops, bouncers, drug boss minders or Ngai Tahu kindy toilet cleaners. Violence solves nothing, ask the police. They regularly dish out violence with no gain; aks my hamster bro.
