    Taupo track times

Hey Ive dona a bit of a search for some times for the full Taupo track and all I can find is times for a damp track.
What Im looking for is 600SS times in the dry and if possible a bit of an example of say mid pack times to fast times.
    Thanks

Last seasons VMCC 600cc races at Taupo saw the front runners in the 1.35 to 1.36's in race 1 then in race two Sam Smith put in a high 1.34 to win the race and i think set a new class lap record for the track.

From memory i think the track was all dry but it was quite cool.

There was a big entry last season for that event and some failed to qualify but mid field was 1.41 upwards.

Check out all the results from the day at mylaps.com
The older i get the faster i used to be.......

1:38s on a very shitty track (meeting canned for dangerous conditions)

1:34 on a cold but dry track.

I reckon for trackday sort of times, anything under a 1:40 is damned respectable.

In case he doesn't know your times were on the 1000cc Superbike though.

    The 600cc lap record is a 1.34.6

You coming out to play on your 1000 for the VMCC?

    Nah mate, I don't have a thousand.

You must be thinking of someone else lol
Edit: You are right though, I used to have one. The 1:38s on the crappy track were on a 600 though. Then I thought I'd give young Jay a lesson in braking.........

Doh !!!!! Bit of work to do yet !
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !

Yeah if i do the sunday, I've got this problem with saying when !
Will have a crack at saturday and see what times i'm running at, if i'm way off the boil, i'll step back and make space for an extra run for them having a crack at the title, or use that as an excuse to nurse a hangover !
I have a habit of procastinating when it comes to signing up too haha, you know it's guys like us that really stress the organisers out aye ! But then it's us that have them smiling and heaving a big sigh of relief on the day too lol !
