Just a thought, would building up the soles not be detrimental to shifting? Maybe it would be okay, but I would want to be sure that it wouldn't effect the ability to control the bike.

Hopefully someone can comment who has built up boots.

A safer option then wearing bigger shoes is to take a look at the seat and you will find that you might be able to take a few inches out of that instead.

It would probably cost the same or less than getting a new pair of high heeled boots, looks better, safer and you can tailor the seat to how you want it to look and feel.

I'm not sure what area you live but if it is in Auckland I can highly recommend Superior Saddles. Roy will take a look at your situation and let you know what is possible, and if you can even keep what you had cut out it can be re-glued and replaced with the original cover for when you want to sell the bike. Or even better he can replace the foam in the seat now with better more compact quality sized foam.

I met a lady who works at Spectrum Motorycles. We were at a trail ride
she rides a CRF250x and is 4'12" tall
she has 30mm added at the toe-tapering to 40m at the heel- god knows how she changes gear!!
she has a lowering link in the bikes suspension and and the forks dropped 30mm and about 30mm out of the seat. shes happy as a sandboy (whatever one of those is)

Finally had my boots resoled a couple of days ago. Look frikken awesome, like something out of KISS. lol.

Can now put my feet flat on the ground while in the saddle and even bend my knees a little. Will take some pix and attach as soon as possible. Woo hoo!

Still going to take some time to get used to them I think, but can't wait to try them out. (Weather and other commitments meant I couldn't take the bike out this weekend). Love that extra height...I feel tall!!! (approx. 30mm on the heel and 20mm at the toe). I'm a giant now hehehehe.

Pix as promised. Probably won't seem too astounding to anyone with legs that can reach the ground easily, but if you've met me you'll know how short I am and that my heels were always about 2cm off the ground when straddling my bike. The platforms are totally amazing (to me) as I can now stand, flat footed astride the bandit - with even a slight flex in my knees!

Took it to school today to try out, and I'm just stoked. Wasn't cheap, but well worth every $ (especially as it was a whooooooole heap cheaper than changing bikes)!

The 3rd photo shows clearly the original sole at the top, the insert and the new work boot sole at the bottom. They had to fill in the original instep in order to make a flat surface for the insert, then shaped the new sole to fit. Cool huh.

Looks like it's solved the problem! Where did you have them done and what was the price like?
I'm due for a new pair of boots and even with the cruiser I'll have to have the soles built up.
