    Nationals conflict with charity ride

Who is the stupid idiot who planned the charity ride on at the same time as the nationals????? what dumb planning! as if its not hard enough to get people to come watch the nationals as it is...now there is another motorcycle event on at the same time...basically competing with R5 at Pukekohe!

    Duh!:slap:

Gee, that sucks. I am really hoping that the AMCC get a good gate to recoup some of their costs and that won't help.

Hopefully everyone knows how awesome the Superbike racing will be and shows up for that.

Its pretty hard to find a weekend that wont conflict with another event even in the same region.
If all were promoted events through a central promotor the conflict could be minimised i suppose. But thats boring aye. It gives us choice.

How often are there two HUGE events on for motorcyclists????? Not very....whats happening the next few weekends for bikers....nothing of the scale of Final Nationals round AND Westpac charity ride! Your telling me you would rather have both these events on the same weekend so you can 'have a choice?' I choose both....on different weekends myself!

Some people dont go to and never will go to a race event, period.

There is no such thing as an event to attract everyone to a single event, it wont happen.
Yes you want to go to both but how many times do you get 2 invites to a certain thing (party etc) and you have to choose. All im saying is that both are valid events as far as popularity are concerned but even if they were on seperate weekends that will not mean that the total number will be at both events.
I agree with you , its a shame but its not the end of the world.

Yep, heard this yesterday and couldn't believe it. 2 of the biggest motorcycle events in the 'Auckland' area on the same day...crazy.
Obviously the charity ride needs the suppport of us motorcyclists and so does the racing, how about the charity ride take into account the fact that they are asking people to give up some time, but to ask people to miss the only national round they can reasonably get to seems rather short sighted.
Yes, there will obviously be a number of people who will do one and not the other, but then there will be a lot who want to do both.....

It's definitely a shame that they are on the same weekend. I always try and support the Westpac run but there is no way that I would miss the Nationals to do it.

It would be good if they worked together and maybe finished the charity run at the national round

SUCH a good idea, and so easy.

Say, everyone that purchases a Westpac Run badge gains free entry on the gate? Wicked good idea.

Thats an awesome idea. An easy way to boost the crowd by the by 1000 or so riders that go on the Westpac ride.

maybe increase the price for the badge? that way itll save on crowds at the other end having to fish out wallets etc. depending on what entry to the nationals is of course.
