    Insurance

Thought 'd look up the John Baker web site for insurance the premimum came to $579 and thats with a discount for being and old dude.
Now compare that with my current insurerer State where I only pay $229.83.
I don't think that I'm going to change. Just wondering why there is such a big difference I had been led to believe that JB Insurance was a good deal:spudwhat:

Buy a Harley. Then you'll be sorted.

I used to plug John Baker quite a bit untill they basically told a customer of mine, who'd told them I'd refered them to JB, "Who cares?"

Have just had quotes from AMI and Classic Cover for the XT. AMI $605.04/$300XS Classic $450.00/$450XS.... Might be going with Classic even though all our other insurances are with AMI. Might phone AMI and see if they will negotiate.

AMI also have an excess of $1000 for theft on ALL bikes.

    Classic: WYSIWYG. Highly reccommended.

Mrs H, after a bit of ringing around, went with John Baker for her new Marauder. Classic didn't call her back, so who knows if they would have been cheaper or not?

    NO

That's a common misconception. The increase in insurance, is the Health insurance aspect. Harley riders are usually overweight and/or angry which makes them much more susceptible to cardiac arrest or transient ischemic attack's.

btw, harley insurance is expensive because harley's are expensive, and people like to steal them!

It costs me $900 a year (at a great rate!) to insure my $14000 Suzuki.

A Harley of the same value will be $798 or less. To anyone.

    insurance provider

Just realised that people go through a lot of trouble as novices when they are hunting for a bike........add to that the trouble of finding the best insurance provider.........wondered if someone could actually rate insurance providers.......prob based on premium, excess and service.........by the looks of it there are 4-5 insurance companies.....not sure how many more there are locally......someone whose already done the research maybe able to advise......just a thought....pls provide feedback......

    Insurance question

If you only have third party insurance on your bike, in the event of a bin, can you claim for your gear on your house and contents policy or is it too use-specific for that. Our bikes are all only third party cover, hence my query.
