Kiwibike sorted us today .. follow Hitchers directions.
Received this message this morning which will interest those who were concerned at the plight the poor bugger's were (and still are) in. Specially those who contributed.
Not too many did that though.

Hi Bill,
Linda and I were uplifted to find only this evening that there has been some KiwiRider discussion about our bike museum being flooded /mudded. We are very humble in the world of cyberspace -apologies. we have attempted unsucessfully to log on & offer thanks to yourselves and your good friends THANK YOU for your kind thoughts. We are attempting to put a web page about the museum recovery & history together with Jazbugs help .
Roger
Thanks to all for your kind thoughts - We weren't insured - (premiums kept going up and cover down, so we flagged it). It takes things like this to make you remember how many good people there are out there. Its been a tremendous boost, Things are looking better, the land will take a time to recover and the landscape has changed somewhat, but most of the mud is out of the museum and we can now work towards rebuilding and reopening. It will take more than a bit of mud to stop us. Sunbeamland will be back, and we look forward to meeting all you good people here one day.
Linda
God I'm Slow. Only just read this. Hope things are sorting out for them. Money a little tight at the moment, so will ring to see if there anything else that I can do.

To support guys when they are down is great and hey, one day it could be us. So good on you riderinblack. They will be pleased to hear from you!

Hi Dug, thank you for the kind wrds ( these guys probably think I paid you to say all those things....) yes the book bindery was OK even the pet possum in waiting to become a book cover. Seriously all you guys dont feel you have to send us any money your kind thoughts are enough -may need help of a different kind...-we have no idea how things are going to pan out-at best we could be open again in a fairly short time once the building is fixed at worst the dreaded council could (try to) shut us down for good with an outlandish geotec report-could even have to shift our home too with the altered land. Lets hope it doesnt come to that , Its great to know there are people out there -thats why we started a bike museum universal good values-same planet eh? "Be a superior being-ride a motorcycle" saying alegedly attributed to Alfred Scott -inventor of most modern (1912 onwards) 2 stroke bikes.
Nice to hear from you, I will try to call next time I am up that way, hopefully things will continue to make progress

Wow I've only just found this thread. Good on those who are able to finacially help or be of assistance in other ways
I do hope you are able to continue with your passion & work Sunbeamz.
Hopefully the council will see sense & work with you in a way that will allow you to get back on track.
(Last resort is Fair go, if they don't flex)
Been wondering how these Dudes are after the last lot of flooding.

Dunno??
Their email is: sunbeams@igrin.co.nz
E-mailed them and got this reply:
Yeah were OK -heaps of water again but the creeks were deep & clear (not any more) & we got out with shovels in the trouble spoots. Lot colder this time . Shed is secure again & bikes inside from the weather. Steam engine too. Got lots to do including new retaining wall. Council came up with some poles for that which is good (half a loaf ) we are still waiting on EQC fo some asasistance so in debt at present from doing huge channels on the hill -essential. well be OK & museum open again maybe oct
Cheers Thanks
Roger
