I camped next to a guy from Christchurch on a DR800 doing the Dusty Butt this year. They trailered it to Fairlie without a hitch until a judder bar in the campground broke a strop and the DR came off the trailer breaking mirrors and bent the bars.
Saw them on the first day but not again after that.

Saw them again after the first day in Alexandra, he said it was a bit awkward with uneven arms but manageable so I assume he was able to complete the dusty!
