    Fight club?

I've got arms like a girl and I wouldn't mind adding a bit of meat on to em. So I went and bought my self a set of boxing gloves. I got a few interested mates who wouldn't mind throwing a few punches around for fun and getting a black eye or 2.

If any of you's are interested, let me know and we'll see if we can make it a weekly thing.

Just a note though, it's all for good fun and not for serious boxers or fighters. We are only a group little shits after all.

That would be fun to watch - newbies almost always underestimate their own strength and when they get 'tagged' they tend to get carried away, lose control and try to take you head off.

    Definitely recommend a mouthguard.

To make it even more interesting, have a few beers first.

I'd like to come and watch this so I can have a good laugh - but fear that I might end up having to do some patching up!!!

I have a homemade wing chun dummy in my gargre that I beat up. I just made one for my brother in law and took analogue pics the other day that I will endeavour to get processed shortly. It's a good way to train.

You won't put any worthwhile muscle on punching a bag for forks sake. Do some weights & eat lots of protein.

Failing that, swap your bike for a Blackbird or Busa and eat lots of burgers. My arms have trebled in size since buying my bike!!

    Yeah. Wot Spud says.

Sparring isn't going to give you big delts and biceps (well, not past a certain point, anyway). Weight training is.

What you describe will, in fact, as far as I can tell, do nothing for you at all except get your teeth knocked out. It probably won't make you a better fighter.

Join a proper boxing or Muay Thai gym and start training with some people who know what they're doing. Nix with this basement stuff.

Cool, gotta make mouth guard a compulsary equipment when we do this then.

I have done weights but I get bored of em after a while. Besides, I need strong but light mussels good for speed as well as strength. I don't wana bulk up, I just want some stronger faster arms to flick my bike around corners quicker for longer.

    Yeah.

    Um...

Actually, MR's idea concerns me a bit. Good chance of someone getting carried away and doing real damage. It's all good fun until someone gets a detached retina...

    Arrrgh.

    Arrrgh, arrrgh, arrrgh.

    Thud.

MR, you and I need to sit down and have a good long talk about strength training. There is no law of physics that says that lifting has to make you slow.

Perhaps we'll have some time to chat on Sunday.

Better yet......shoot your own & drag it up a tree away from other predators
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?
