I've had enough of this recession shit.

Back in November we went down to 10 hour days from 12 (4 on 4 off) which sucked but hey still getting by ok,found out today that approx 130 out of the 300 that work there wont be come the end of the month, pretty hard on a small town eh.Hope its not that bad but methinks it will be.Fingers crossed.Knew there would be some going but certainly didnt think the numbers would be that high bugger it.Waiting is the hardest part.Cross some fingers out there for me will ya.

I'll tie a knot or two in my willy if that helps mate!

It appears that the entire world has stopped purchasing

A guy I know who imports jewelry from China has lost a couple of his suppliers - they have just closed up completely due to less orders.

I received a letter from HONDA NZ last week telling me to trade my bike now on a new one as there are two more price rises planned for the next 6 months! Can't afford one now after the last rise!

Saddly ecconomic cycles consist of wars, booms and bust!

I was born at the start of WW2.

We have been through the boom years that followed!

The "BUST" elevator button is jammed hard on "down" right now.

Watch out for WW3 (or it's equivilent) it must be just around the corner! John. (pessimistically speaking of course :slap

I've worked for temping agencies on/off for years and this year has been the first time I have actually only been offered one shift in a week. Some weeks I only get two.

Only 6 months ago I could pull 24 hour shifts, work 7 days - only turning down enough shifts to rest.

Knew it was coming but just came up a bit quick.

If your able to stay afloat now, keep a house, children etc then when things pick up you will be in a fantastic position.

I'm currently re-training, not holding out too much hope of full time employment - but also not actively looking either. I'm making the most of my free time, getting out and running everyday going to see new places and catching up with friends. Even meeting new people.

The temping sector should have been first to dry up, but truth is - there is still a lot of people actually looking for staff to hire in the health sector. The money is there - just not enough people. Trouble is, right now so many people have lost their jobs and flooded the temping agencies - there is very little work left after it's shared out!!

    Enjoy your extra free time...
