What if Streetstock and Motard's were to use just the Manfield track extension, while other classes were on the main track?
    Would free up more time.
No transponers.... Would need more volunteers for marshalls...

    Just thinkin out loud....

Has been thought of before. Requires full circuit booking (more $$$), plus a whole extra set of volunteers (not just marshalls, but steward, clerk, starter, timers etc). But no reason why it can't be revisited.

Fewer longer races are good. Enables you to fit in more racing as less time is wasted getting bikes on and off the track.

To be honest, most of the race positions seem to be sorted by about lap 3 so I'm quite happy with 6 lappers for the majority of the series.
    Im with him!

I agree on having less races but longer ones.....alot of time dissapears with all the extra gridding up etc.
I think the time on track is a very valid one too, the faster classes could easily have a few extra laps compared with the slower classes.
It would also encourage people to maybe move up a level. As would not allowing a crossentered rider to gain points.

At the end of the day someone somewhere won't be happy though.....................probably Scracha...............just kidding

I'll be cross entering the VMCC and don't want my points taken away please.....

Sod the Superbike class lets just have 4 formula two races per meeting instead.....

Maybe we could start a future classic class or something for all the current Superbikes and give them a 3 lap once every other meet run out???

    Just a thought........

    Joking obviously
The older i get the faster i used to be.......

Re running on the extention, it's closing soon !!!
How about handicap races - put all F2 and F1 together and give them zimmer frames, F3 rulz + Post Classics, give them all the track time they want. LOL.

Well i recon the idea of me winning F1 works So any idea that helps, i'll vote for ! Or let me race in F2 maybe ?????????? 190kg dry, 130 Hp, power to wieght rah de rah ! EDIT : and and add rider wieght !
Or i'll shut up and race where i can and be happy doing so whether it be last or second to last !
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !

Cool thread. It will definitely have to be discussed by the committee, but what I know from previous discussions is that there are also racers who prefer to have 3 first corner scraps rather than two longer races. Mel tries to spread it around over the season by varying the format for each meeting. This also makes sense given that 5 of our meetings are run at Manfield. I feel the F1 guys' pain though. If we didn't have so many F2 entries we could run both classes together, give them 4 races and just keep the points separate. Can't see it happening. The other option touched on might be the invitational at the end of the day if we have time. There are a few probs with this. The first that comes to mind is we would have to decide before the end of the last F1 race so the boys don't pack up. Then if we have problems, they have sat around for nothing.
The reality is that we have a pretty packed schedule, and everything we do to try and make someone happier, is bound to ruffle someone else up.

What if you let the F1 bikes race with the F2 class for no points and we start off the back? That way we can have the oppertunity to ride as much as the F2 riders. We shouldnt get less track time then the F2 boys just because we have bigger BALLS hahahaha

Hit the nail on the head with that one. Fantastic idea. 600 riders might complain about getting carved up by the fast guys on 1000's like your self.

The problem is that we probably have a full grid of F2 bikes already (35 max). No room for extras.

Okay Im ready to get a bashin, but if there is not enough F1 bikes to make a class then dont do a F1 race, same as any other class if there are not the numbers dont do it........seems obvious to me, is it only a motorcycle event if the F1 class is active ? hardly think so, if F1 want a class then they better get of their arses and attend it eh lol

    Love you Eddie

Well I guess if you apply the "free market" rules that is perfectly valid. F1 guy's don't want to be considered a "minority" and get special treatment, that would be "socialist"
