    Feilding Riders

All makes welcome - Experienced, newer and returning riders welcome Meet BP Feilding

Come and meet other local riders and ride some of the regions picturesque roads - Stopping for a snack along the way.

FEILDING RIDERS CLUB - 1st Sunday Ride
Start time 10:00am 15th March, finishing early afternoon.
    Leaving from Feilding Railway Station

Even if you can't make the ride come along and say gidday.

This will be an introductory ride to get some of the surrounding riders together.

You don't have to be a Feilding person, it's a base only.
We will be allowing for all rider levels and using group rides tricks that we've picked up. (Thanks Manawatu Riders and CDMTC)

The plan is to develop more local rides over the next few months with a few runs of 400km upwards. Maybe a monthly big ride.

    Note:
    1. This is an informal club but may become more structured later on.
    2. Ride will finish early afternoon but riders will be able to cut back early.
    3. This is a social ride to get to know other riders. Don't expect a fast pace.
    4. All Sensible Manawatu Riders are welcome to join us for the ride.

Will probably go back to "Murray's" garden bar afterwards for a chat and drink.
Rear entrance and car park on Eyre Street (By Vet Clinic)

Look forward to seeing you there. Future rides suggestions welcome. (The plan is to develop more local rides over the next few months with a few runs of 400km upwards. Maybe a monthly big ride.)

Then monthly social time - Last Wednesday of each month at Murray's - 7:30pm.

If you have any questions please post on this thread, or PM 'Kiwikat',
    or Text 027 2469778.

Good turn out. Feilding to Magaweka. then on to Vineger Hill. A few of us cut the ride short there while the rest headed of to Hunterville then on to Turakina valley. My excuse is I need a nana nap ready for a wee poodle later on in the arvo. Nice day for it and quite a few bikes of all sorts out and about.

It was nice to meet Radar and co as well as a few of the Feilding crew. Good to see so many learners out.

Yep. The day went well. Special thanks to those friendly Manawatu Riders who came over and supported this first ride. You lot rock.

It was a leisurely ride all around and really great to ride some beaut roads and get some newbies out.

Awesome to have visitors from Wairarapa. It was fantastic to meet such sociable riders (route nearly changed to Martinborough). I hope you enjoyed the rest of the day)

Thank you to Bonezandmonamieand86gsxr for leading the visitors back through Vinegar Hill.

Now to build on this with regular social meets and a mix short and long rides.

Some pics are available at http://www.visualisethefuture.com/apps/photos/ - more to be added.

Nice to catch up with some out of town KBers and have you along on the ride today. Thanks for the tips. Next time we are heading over your way I will try to remember to send you a PM.

Keep and eye on the Manawatu threads and watch out for the green frog we discussed.

Did you turn the wheel half a turn. That'll fix it.

Yeah it was a good ride. Had two riders on L plates but they kept up OK. Had one Hyosung, one Buell, two BMW, two Moto Guzzi's and some old an orrible onda things. there were lots of other cool bikes too, like Yamas and Suzis. Ride report coming soon. No Kwakas !!! There is hope yet.

Really enjoyed this ride. Thanks KK and co for organising what I'd say will become a pretty good event on the Manawatu biking calendar It was GREAT being back in the drivers seat, and what a splendid route! Good to meet several new faces, look forward to another one. Well done

1st Group Ride - Feilding - Rangiwahia - Turakina Loop

15 motorcyclists turned up at the Feilding Railway Station for the 10:00am meet (including two pillions). 3 of the riders (Radar and co) were from outside the region, coming through from Wairarapa, to join us on the ride and then flick across to Te Manawa. The Manawatu reputation is obviously strong and our visitors were pleased to meet up with the old an orrible Bonez, and enquired about the lime green Kwaka (not frog) rider. Four riders from Rongotea joined us and we caught up with a new Kimbolton Biker on a mighty 919 Monster. (We will see more of this bike on Friday night rides)

A leisurely pace was maintained up to Rangiwahia where the skies and scenery were magnificent with Mt. Ruapehu almost within touching distance. I had forgotten what it was like to sit on a comfy 100k and once I got used to it I was able to appreciate the surroundings instead of just blasting past.

At Rangiwahia we regrouped where I learnt about about the inflexibility of metal pin and 2 finger control. No time for the rust to set in there. The road out to Mangaweka was in excellent condition, so would be worth another look before the damp weather sets in. Over the slippery Mangaweka bridge and a quick run down towards Hunterville was in order. Our two mature newbies did very well with nice lines through the twisties and handled SH1 traffic nicely.

We had arranged a quick stop at Vinegar Turnoff where a few of the group were heading back to Palmy but this was missed by a few riders who went past the intersection, not noticing everyone else waving madly at them. A momentary (safe) flick into warp drive on the Kat and the group was stopped just before heading out of Hunterville.

At Hunterville we had a relaxing sip, bite and refuel (Not at Challenge which had no gas). After me nearly dropping the Kat (no one saw) we then headed down to Marton and across to Turkina, then back through Crofton, Reikorangi, Stanway, Makino and to Murray's for a refreshment stop. All in all a good ride, which gave me a good understanding of riding with and supporting newbies. (Now I know.) Thanks again to everyone who turned up on the day.

A couple of weeks ago the idea of this ride was proposed as a way of getting to meet more of the Manawatu riders around the Feilding Region. Everyone knows someone who rides a motorcycle. A small amount of promotion was done but at relatively short notice we were unsure what the result would be. At our next social meet (Wednesday 25th at Murray's) and over the next few weeks we will be building on this and setting up scheduled short and long rides (not too long Bandit).

p.s the vibrating little monster wants wheelie lessons, mmmnn.
