Feilding BP at 1:00pm. Will choose a direction based on weather at that time. Auckland - Stewart Island? Need to be home for drinks later.

Just back from a nice little run out the back of Feilding, down to sunny Levin (yummy carrot cake) and back through Aokautere with Gizmo and 3dKiwi. Encountered some very interesting winds through Tokomaru on the way back. My phantom pillion was absolutely no use whatsoever and the 45degree riding angles were challenging. It was well worth the ride.

That was a good ride. Pretty dry all the way to shannon. Then wet, wet, wet all the way back to Feilding. Damn fun. LOL.

Not another overcast Sunday. Wasn't yesterday a great day to be out though.

I'll be gearing up in a few minutes to head down to Levin to tag along on the Fundraising ride being run by the Otaki crew. Got to register by 10:00 behind Cobb n Co Levin. It should be a good run heading up this way so I will dop off when it gets near home. Hope to see some of you on the ride.

For an informal afternoon run meet at BP Feilding at 1:00pm. (No gales today)

Might see how the body is the week after this one,(it's the monthly ride iirc this weekend) so might give it a miss, might endeavor to the be at the start maybe, the next week after should be better ribs wise.Even fired the bike up on Friday night, first hit started and hadn't been fired up for 3-4 weeks, was looking neglected.
Think a ride round the naki is in jeopardy, the mountain seems to have vanished, wasn't there this morning and I was 2 km from park boundary at dads place, hopefully it will wonder back.

Isn't there some legend about the mountain disappearing, or was that just the locals. Keep resting up old timer Ha ha (sorry). I had trouble getting my leg over at Levin this morning - could've been embarassing.

Fingers crossed for good weather next weekend.

Yep was going to pootle up the road but would've got me arse kicked, good having chauffer(sort of),but if an accident occurs and they find I'm not allowed to operate a vehicle due to op,then no insurance, only another week or so,asked the nurse is it 4 weeks from operation or discharge,I hinted at operation hehe.

Next week must get better surely, next time I head home my brother is taking me snowboarding up Egmont,so good excuse to ride and use cordura for waterproof and armour warmth on snow, can ski ok but never boarded, skateboarding was ok as teenager.Mind you if they get snow to low levels in Stratford he can be towed behind dads yammy 4x4 in their top paddocks, they have good slopes and close to park boundary.

Righto, I thought we could depart from the Feilding BP at 1000 on Sunday and head up to Waiouru for the first stop via Vinegar Hill and SH 1.

After a catch up and bite to eat we can then proceed to Feilds Track, a legendary piece of back country rd. Bring your camera's as the scenery is quite spectacular from the top of the hill

The track itself is reasonably challenging, quite steep in places with the possibility of damp and the odd amount of pea gravel. If we take it easy there should be no problems.

The track takes us back down to the Para's, another iconic road and from there we can head back via Fordell.

Obviously if the weather's shite we'll do it another time.

Some idea of numbers wouldn't go amiss. See ya there
