It was a lovely day to be out on the bikes
Nice choice of roads Garry-I didn't even mind you cutting me off...I wasn't quite sure where that road was so pleased you did as I would have gone the longer way
More people to meet and great to be out with folk all enjoying the their bikes and the stunning scenery.
Bugger about Mark's chain though..hopefully it will be fixed for the next one.

Oh dear, another sad little post from the man who thinks sarcasm is wit.

Yup, fabulous weather and some roads that I hadn't been on before. I'm looking forward to a longer ride. The Napier via the backroads ride should be a really great ride.

    Here's a couple of photos.

A pity that 1st photo didn't come out. You try to get a nice photo of the young lady and all these bikers turn up. See you on the Napier run.

Heh that was a bugger, I was going about 120km/h and was changing gear, didnt occur to me instantly what had happened, i thought i'd blown up 3rd gear because it happened when i changed. Luckly when it snapped it didn't take out anything else with it, I'm not buying a $80 chain again, it had only been on my bike 2 weeks too...

I got my flat mates to drop off my old chain links and my tool kit and I got to work fixing it, on the side of the road. ( which took over an hour due to fairings )

Slydesigns came out and gave me a hand for a while, then caught up with you guys, then came back and I followed him slowly back to town. My chain link was shagged and it was only a matter a time until it was going to fly off again. We got the ANZA and i bought a new chain, a decent one this time, and took another hour to install it.

Finally after all that drama slydesigns and I got out and went for a good thrash, just what i needed.

A very big thanks to everyone that stopped and offered their help. About 10 different cars stopped, including Meanie. Bonez came back on the mighty GB. Also a big thanks to Slydesigns for coming out and helping out, we had a mean ride.

Good to see you got mobile again Mark.

Just been playing out in the shed on my old GSX750EX. Got a master cylinder off Polly which worked a treat. The rh line was blocked which took a bit to get sorted. Just need to make up a brake switch lead. May even have it road legal ready for next summer.

Good ride yesterday Gary. Really well organised with map and notes on where to go. Only hiccup for me was when the cattle got unsettled and broke through the electric fence.

Just a short note for everyone on these rides. Always stay a safe distance from the person in front of you. If the person infront has to stop quickly for whatever reason be it stock on the road, bee inside their helmet etc. it is the following riders responsibility to be able to ride past or stop before running into the back of the rider in front!

Another thing to take into account is all bikes and riders have different stopping abilities. Stay staggered and be alert to whats going on around you.
