Just a short note for everyone on these rides. Always stay a safe distance from the person in front of you. If the person infront has to stop quickly for whatever reason be it stock on the road, bee inside their helmet etc. it is the following riders responsibility to be able to ride past or stop before running into the back of the rider in front!

Another thing to take into account is all bikes and riders have different stopping abilities. Stay staggered and be alert to whats going on around you.
Very good points Gary. There are a few our local riders that still have the habit of being up the backsides of the person in front even though they've ridden with these folk for a few years now.

Not a problem. It fitted perfectly after the BBQ which helped.
Look at that relaxed, safe, pace. Fantastic work Steve. You summed up the day nicely.

Hope to see you on the Napier run and don't forget that South Wairarapa ride.

Sunday 26th April Hawkes Bay Backroads

    3 weekly scheduled rides.
The credit for the organised leisurely rides needs to go to quite a few people. In particular to Brent who helped crank things up. Without everyone getting on board over the past month it wouldn't happen.

The concept is to also include and promote newer riders which means that on some of our rides we may have 'cheats' or shortcuts for some of the slower riders. More twisties for the rest.

We are now at the stage of getting other riders to help out by taking responsibility for some rides and events. Bonez has been helping out heaps and the ride on the 26th will have a lot of his handiwork in it. The 'Burger Run' to Wellington should also be fun.

Look forward to South Wairarapa and rides to the west. Check out the website or come to our next meeting on the 29th at Murray's.

See you all on the 26th. Let's hope the weather is fine.

I'm on holiday at the moment and riding to Gisborner tomorrow then around the East Cape over the weekend. Looking forward to it.
