    Motomart Trackday... AGAIN!

    Hey people,
After some feedback from our last trackday I have had a think.
How would people feel about in the morning before the sessions start we go for a track walk and even using a whiteboard etc to talk about possible lines etc?

In other words, not just have a "trackday", but really get down to the basics and really get something out of it.

Not sure when our next day will be yet, but I have all the availible dates. So will have something sorted very soon!

we did this on a training trackday many years ago, what also helped was there was two riders who were helping with the training at the time, would come thru the corner, one come thru the corner correctly, other would mess up the corner, to show how it is done and how not done.

remember this showning them is done at a average speed, so can acutally see where to aim etc.

Are you saying get out of bed earlier lol Cooler now so no real hurry to beat the sun to the track aye
Yeah well sorta goes without saying i'm in !
Have ya looked at all the trackday companies dates Like motott or redline and kiwiSo there aint no date clash to screw up attendance for ya, not that the track time we had at ya last one wasn't perfect, but know a few riders who were in taupo that day !
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !

It's definitely an eye opener to walk around the track to see the huge camber the hairpin has for example.

I did that once at Cadwell - it makes a big difference to how you see the track when you ride..

There is also a drill at the California Superbike school where riders are asked to ride the outside edge of the track all the way round, then the inside edge, then the middle line of the track then ride in all those "off line" places you never normally go.... even ride on the grass. The effect is amazing. The track seems much bigger afterwards and there's less "fear" of using parts of the track you wouldn't normally go to.... which means you are more confident and faster on line. Its a good drill.

Another brilliant exercise is the 'no break' exercise. We all did it around Manfeild once at it's a great way to realise how fast you can go around corners and will help to judge entry speed.

A few guys got their knee down for the first time this way. Which is what riding is ALL about AM I RITE!?

I also have a suggestion, when an insurance company calls the organizers to ask about the event, the answer to "Whats the format for the event" should not be - "there is no format, its a track day, you do what you want". It stops a lot of people getting track cover.
