FJ and FJR rider Hawera (Gezza)

    Hi all
Just thought i say gidday from the Naki and introduce my self. I have just had my 5oth birthday and have previously ridden motorcross but i reckon i'm to old for that so i thought i'd give the road a go. Have a Yami FJ1100 which i bought about 7 months back and have done some great rides on in out into the back blocks of the central north island. Man there's some great country out there!!. Am very keen to hit the south island next Feb-Mar and thought i need a newer machine to get the job done.About 5 weeks ago i saw this beautiful FJR 1300 on trade me owned by a guy who called himself "Hitcher". To cut a long story short the 1300 lives in my shed with the 1100 and i very much enjoy riding both bikes.
    Cheers Gary AKA Gezza

Welcome to KB. That FJR you've got has a proud heritage. You must take it to the South Island at least once per year and its mandatory to enter either the Grand Challenge or the Chatto Creek 1000, and to complete a major Rusty Nuts event. Anything less and the bike will get lazy, then god knows what might happen.

It's nice to know that the FJR is living in comfort and cared for by somebody who understands the special needs that big Yamahas have.

Hey dude welcome and all that, yeah mate couple nice bikes you got there, I think the next step after the ZX14 will either be an FJR or a Kawasaki Concours, loving the 14 at the moment though so the next step will be a way off I reckon.. Enjoy..

Hello Gezza, I'm in new Plymouth. Brought a new FJR at the beginning of this year and done 7,000km down the South Island in Feb. Fantastic bike! What can I say ~ welcome and maybe we'll catch ya on the road sometime.
