I got a longish way down the track with a Neptune can when I had mine.
I sold the bike before I put it on though.
Be aware you have to cut the pipe in front of the can, the mufflers don't bolt on like they do on an SV Thou

I'd scour tard me to be honest. I think I paid $1700 for my race system.
Ive got a scorpoin can here that was on my bike. $100 --its got a couple of tiny pin dents
To see a life newly created. To watch it grow and prosper. Isn't that the greatest gift a human being can be given?
I rode one with a Neptune can - bloody nice sound and well built - I understand that they supply them with a 'joiner' so after you have cut the stock pipe, if you desire you can use the joiner to bolt the stock muffler back on.
There will be a picture up on their website.
If you don't mind a bit of mucking around there are 'name-brand' cans on Trademe often for pretty good prices i.e. a mint Yoshi can for $300. You'll need to organise the cutting and joining of the stock to new muffler, but a local muffler shop will be able to sort this if you can't.
Mine came with a 2 brothers can. I can't hear an FJR1300 next to my bikeI think you can get them off motoparts or something like that (they trade on trademe and also have a recent post here) - about $700 new. Of course a second hand one would be better value. They're stainless (presume all the way through?). Mine is 5 years old and looks new.
Get good cracle and pop changing down and using engine braking.
Good for safety too. Especially cyclists that are prone to cut in front. They more often than not hear me and look behind as I approach on the SV, whereas on the VTR250 - no one new I was coming.

Roars like a Duke when your going quick and booms when your pootling around town, awesome. Good thing is (what I like about it) its really quiet when youre just cruising, its only when you open the throttle that you get that noise.
Start the bike up and you'll get a great bark or sometimes a bit of a bang too, scares the shit out of people quite often, makes then jump atleast, good times.
Yes, they arent good for fuel consumption (for reason's above)
And your neighbours will hate you if you like giving your bike a while to warm up.
But who cares, I dont, I can tell from anywhere in my house that my bikes running out in the driveway.
I thinks its a slip on but after owning a few suzukis I almost think its a full system because the header pipes aren't rusting or anything.
Pic attached anyway.
I think the new ones (slip on's) are around $600 and come with removeable baffles, mines an older one before they brought the baffles in.
Pic attached.
