Which reminds me, what has been decided about my son being relegated to "C" grade in August last year and the points obtained? It makes no difference at the moment but it may at the end of the season so better to sort it out now.
Dropping someone back a class on a "slow day" is a bit unfair especially if it makes a difference to a championship position. Something that needs to be sorted for the future for sure.

Can you imagine doing it to Rick for instance if his bike was "off" and he was only managing 33s, would he be dropped back to "B" grade for a meeting? I don't think so Tim.(Home Improvement quote)

I appreciate that Mike Jnr may have lost 12 or 13 points as a result of racing in C-grade rather than B-Grade in August. However, in retrospect, it still seems to me like it was the right decision. At every meeting this season, apart from the most recent meeting where the conditions were a factor, we have qualified the B-grade and C-grade together and then split them where we felt it made sense based on the riders' enjoyment and safety. On several occasions we have moved riders from B-grade to C-Grade. So far, this has been the only such change that has been questioned.

At the August meeting, Mike Jnr qualified 2.5 seconds down on the slowest B-grade rider. Based on these times, we could reasonably expect that Mike would be lapped by everyone in B-Grade and more than once by the leaders. In his C-grade race, he lapped considerably faster but was still a bit under a second slower than the slowest B-grade rider. If Mike had been slower due to his bike being "off", and that was something that could be fixed, then the decision might have been different at the time. However, as he was trying to adapt to a new bike, while running considerably slower than B-grade pace in qualifying, the decision seems quite reasonable even in hindsight.
