Words have actually failed me, what the hell do we do to combat this stupidity in our society? She has children! What the hell kind of upbringing are they getting?
Cheers Mom, you've reminded me to get back on the wagon, and ask Judith Collins, Steven Joyce and Simon Powers to remind me again, why the hell are we sharing the road with these scumsucking pieces of ____!!
    How many priors?
Im sorry NZ Police, ACC and NZTA, you are wasting our time on the lowering BAC argument, when this is the epitome of what we face on our Roads. This right here is the danger.

She dont give a toss about herself, her kids, or us on the road!
I just hope next time she drives she doesnt smash and kill the innocent ones.

For those here who would kill someone for repeat drink driving (which offence I agree is truly reprehensible - hell, once is enough, and there should be Real Consequences), please tell me: what other offences would get the rope/bullet in your ideal NZ?

People like this woman are very hard to treat. They are indeed ill, with a disease called alcoholism. However, something must be done to protect society from people like her, and I think jail should have been an option far earlier in this case. OK she has kids, but maybe it's time to bring in CYFS in this case. Yes, all of this costs money - but what else can reasonably be done?

Yes and they fail to send 95% of repeat drink drivers for alcohol assesment, we know this for a fact!
In 52% of cases its not till the 4th or 5th offense that they are assessed.
We fail to treat and we fail to protect innocent road users.
There are a myriad of solutions, it will not take just the one!

You are so right. Thing is, 'the one' solution can be very effective.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Depends which 'the one' solution is on offer...and Im NOT talking about the rope solution. I dont believe there can only be one, becuse the causes are so varied.

For a start using commonsense would prove effective.
If we recycle them back onto the roads after a one year ban, that is not effective, pair that with inadequate sentencing, and while at it we fail to treat the associated problem, that is not effective.
So we know what we're not doing.
There are some adequate laws, but we don't even back that up, we fail to follow through.
She is quite clearly an obvious danger, not being dealt with.

    Steve
A Drunk Driver killed my cousin, and 4 of his mates on Xmas eve years ago. And I should ignore it? Good to know that you can equate the lives of 5 innocent teenagers in one car to "A knob of Goats poo".

You sir, are a complete cockwallet, and I hope I never have the misfortune of meeting you in real life.

Wait till something like this affects your Kids, see how you feel about these scumfucks then. I'll bet you won't ignore it then.

    For some cases...I am.
Just an aside - did anyone watch the Police 10/7 last night? The Maori 'royalty' pulled up. No reg, no wof, no licence, umpteen disqualifications, well-practised liar. With a car load of drunk mates (at least she didn't appear to be - that's something). And then the trouble caused across the road by one or more of those drunk passengers.
With that mentality, nothing is going to work. Except....

Don't kill them, we do have a chance to make them learn. Pop them in a cell for three weeks with the absolute minimum of food and water and torture the living hell out of them every day. If they get caught again, triple the length of the punishment. If they get caught yet again, they will never learn, and it is time for a bullet.

    Easy.

Lawfulness or otherwise comes down to respect. There are those who have none. Not even for themselves... Not possible to get past that.

This is why i am not a politician; resolution is harder than it would seem....

I reckon the problem is the lack of consequence (mentioned earlier) and the lack of empathy.

If people aren't going to be punished or they don't care then how do you stop them?

I have heard someone say "well, i haven't got a licence, a rego, a warrant and i am a little pissed so my only way out is to try and outrun them when the lights go on"

With a confused look i responded "take a taxi" and they said (with an equally confused look) "i can't afford a taxi because i am paying $200 a payday to fines"

At that point i decided it wasn't worth while arguing, some are beyond education, so i increase my following distance and make sure i ain't close to other vehicles.

Short of putting on a cape and running around all vigilante what can i do? I am not happy about it tho

Totally agree. All the kids are learning off this women is that you can pull stunts like this and there are no real consequences...

I nominate MSTRS' avatar on a big screen TV ( which the woman probably already has one....) and chain her to a chair to watch it!!

I saw that this morning. Another of our home-grown gems. Give it time and we'll get pics of the nippers, probably for similar reasons.
