You meet bikers in the strangest places

So having been told off for calling a fellow KBer an "Old Fart" I have a confession to make.

I have been having problems with my sight, nuffin major or anything. Just as I spend all day on a puter and am getting on a tad. So I decided to go for an eye test.

Well the form says "List your hobbies" so I put SCUBA and Motorbikes (well I couldnt fit everything in the lil box and I thought shagging would not go down too well ).

I got chatting to the opto..opter....eye checking fella. He asks what kinda bike I got and that was it! When he said he belonged to the Italian riders club I kinda said ...soooo you have a Ducati? His poor trainee was blank as we yakked about putting Yoshies, three brothers or some other after market pipes on the SV and Paeroa races.

Damn what a small community I live in. And what a buzz to be able to yak to a fellow biker. I am sure the eye test took twice as long as normal. Anyways told him about the site and maybe we have a new KBer.

Just thought I would share. Oh and yes I need specs for reading and puter work!

Soon after my little incident last year I had to visit my Doctor to check the progress of my injuries. When I told what happened I thought I was going to get the standard non-biker lecture of how dangerous they are , and I know a patient who etc....
But I was quite surprised to learn he had a bike sitting in his garage and how his friends thought he was crazy. Wasn't really up for a big natter as I was too (concussed) but he was the last person I expected to be a biker

LMAO Lucy ...trust you to know him. I thought I was kinda being discreet.

We might just get a Whangaparaoa bikers club happening here.

Thats such a buzz when you encounter fellow bikers. I was giving blood once and the nurse who hooked me up was a rider and we yakked & yakked. It's great! Also when I broke my finer in 3 places the nurse who assisted used to be a rider. It's so much easier b/c they get it.
My goal in life is to be as good a person as my dog already thinks I am.

Yeah damn shame I am not allowed to give blood anymore as I lived in the UK in the early 90s so they think I have "MadCow" disease. Hmmmm maybe thats where my nick name came from. :spudwhat:

Hope you got your "Finer" sorted
