A must read for all taxpayers!

This is a really interesting read on what really goes on within the public service and how they are wasting our hard earned money. While I'm sure National will be able to change some of these habits, stupidity has been well ingrained by Labour.

This from a current Public Service Manager...

Years of habit and cover-your-arse have developed a generation of public servants who live by meetings, committees and reports. And a bunch of auditors who NEVER say "it was pleasing to see that processes were not followed unnecessarily, thereby saving the taxpayer X million dollars". But...but...but...the system isn't broken. Sure, it costs a bit, but that's what it was designed to do.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Interesting to read, don't really have a comment yet but I'll organise a meeting and we can form a steering committee to come up with a method or producing the best possible comment.

I know what he is saying, it happens were I work now.

Because only when the normal, sane, silent majority of sensible Kiwis make themselves heard will we start to unravel all the crap law and policy that has built up like fat in a middle aged artery over the last twenty years. We need to be able to sprint at the moment, and it just ain't happening.

Maori , are doing it ... ( just worried about $80 underpants ) ... but the average Kiwi does nought .

One of the benefits that might arise from this current government is a streamlining of process.....( might )

I think maybe, that I recognise the hallmarks of communication here.

I recon we're quite lucky that currently we have a Govt and MP's representative of the people that are practical, and "appearing" to listen - across alot of issues, unlike the bunch of ignorant and arrogant reps we had "before" we just need to keep the accelerator on.

I know for a fact thAT SOME poli's and average ordinary Kiwis are working hard to make a difference to break down law and order policy, and will continue to do so.

Achievement is not always success while reputed failure often is. It is honest endeavor, persistent effort to do the best possible under any and all circumstances.

The problem as I see it, is that we have produced a generation of government officials that seem more interested in "the process" than "the outcome".

Unfortunately the attitude is present at all levels. From counter staff to senior public servants, and from local government to central government.
The greatest pleasure of my recent life has been speed on the road. . . . I lose detail at even moderate speed but gain comprehension. . . . I could write for hours on the lustfulness of moving swiftly.

I'd say the first one as well.
