RX125 crank and stator required

In short, mine is fucked. The stator mounting plate that is currently on the crank has sheared the key and is now very well stuck on the shaft, the use of a gear puller to try and remove it has simply bent the mounting plate which is now obviously unusable.

I need an RX125 crank, preferably complete, as it looks to be the fastest way to fix this problem is to replace the whole crank assembly

If anyone is able to help and can bring the parts to Mt Wellington on Saturday that would be great, otherwise I am happy to pickup within Auckland.

Payment in beer or cash is applicable.

eh? you mean the flywheel is still stuck on the crank? You use a std jap flywheel puller I'd imagine, pretty cheap but Motionpro simple one is the best, careful heat & a bit of a tap with some great on the threads & end of crank.

Bit confused there as well. Remeber that has the AG100 fly wheel not the RX one (that is here i my shed if you want it)

The flywheel has sheared the rivets on the mounting plate, which is what mounts the whole lot onto the crankshaft. The stator/flywheel is now sitting on the bench, the plate that it was previously riveted to is still attached to the crank and will not budge.

Ahhh. ok so can you give it some heat & use the proper puller?

I've made up rivets for flywheels before, should be fixable.

What do you define 'heat' as... I have a heat gun, will that be hot enough, or are you talking gas torch sort of heat?

Only problem is it's got the electronic ignition right behind the mount, where the points would normally be.

I was using a gear puller, three 'fingers' that clamp around the back of the plate, and the bolt in middle to push against the centre of the crank.

Having a think on it and talking with the old man over the weekend, the first outing I had with that flywheel I sheered the keyway and it is possible when it was put back togeather loctight may have been used to reduce the chance of it happening again.

Might explain why you are having issues getting it off

Buy the proper puller, $15 or something. Loctite will break down with heat, hopefully before the oil seal gets toasted but they can take a bit.

Next time lap the rotor onto the crank with some fine grinding paste for a while & clean. The key has NO strength is just there for assembly process, really.

What is the 'proper puller'? I can't use a normal flywheel puller as there is nothing to bolt it up to. I'll try and sort out some pics this arvo.
