New rider wearing a chicken suit (TerryB)

Terry is the name. Thought I should say hi. I just bought my first 'real' bike, a Kawasaki Eliminator 250. Nice machine. Should get it delivered today or tomorrow. It’s interesting that I have been looking to get my licence for a couple of years now. Re took my basic handling certificate a couple of months back. Figured it was different going from a Vespa to a traditional motorcycle.
It’s interesting that there are many people telling me to follow my dreams and get a bike. (I like these people). There is also a lot more people telling me that I shouldn’t do it, afraid that I’ll end up as pavement pizza (my wife included). I guess I can only do so much. I’ll get myself some training. I’ve got all the gear. I’ve even got a white helmet, and reflector vest. It’s amazing how much more visible a white helmet can be, although probably the most un-cool. I’ll worry about being cool when I’m qualified to do so. I reckon the more stupid I look; the more I’ll be noticed. Maybe I should ride around in a chicken suit. I even have this great website to refer to and ask questions.
Anyway. Nice to meet you all. Hope to meet some of you at some point. Hope you’ll notice me on the road. Just look for a guy wearing a chicken suit. Cluck Cluck.
