I avoid riding alongside cars like the plague. It's not healthy. I suppose there are situations when you can't do much about it though.
Ride fast or be last.
Since leaving Auckland I don't see red quite as much as I used to. Understandable how pissed off people get though, and there are some ignorant, useless drivers out there.
I remember coming home one night about 9pm, and there was a car behind me driven by an asian lady, weaving in and out between lanes, not indicating, with no lights on.
I pulled up alongside them and blasted my horn till they eventually looked at me and I pointed at my headlight twice, they then finally got the message and put them on. I gave them her the thumps up and was on my merry way.
I didn't see red then but if she had put me in any danger due to that, somehow I think more than a door kicking would have been in order.
What you have in your heart will be revealed through what you have in your life.
If things are going badly in our circumstances, the answer to what is happening to us outwardly is more often than not found in the mirror.
I'm well aware of the temptation to kick a door in or remove a wing mirror and, for that matter, don't deny that on many occasions the car driver does deserve it. But before going ahead and taking such action we should all ask ourselves a few questions.
Is it wise for me to do it? What if that driver decides to retaliate and rams me into the oncoming traffic? What if I manage to avoid his actions but the next poor motorcyclist to come along cops it?
There's a whole lot more at stake here than just our own simple gratification and like I've always said - "But it wasn't my fault" makes for a very poor epitaph.
Yep! Escape routes must be considered!
