    Fairing repair help!

    Hi Team,

Wondering first of all if this cracking can be repaired, and If so then what method/product would give me the best finish/strength?

    Here's the damage.

    Cheers.

Yes, you can even do it yourself if your game enough.

Use a soldering iron and a plastic coat-hanger - with the fairing off, run a bead of new plastic along the back of the crack.

To be honest you are probably better off getting it done professionally as if you stuff it up too badly it will make it worse to repair later. It is possible to do it yourself though and I have done it myself a few times.

Another method you can use is to get some fiber glass and 'patch' the back of it. Very strong but can get messy. You can buy 'kits' with everything you need in one tub from Repco for about $30. I prefer this method, just remember to roughen up the plastic with sandpaper or the matting and resin will not stick very well.

...in future dont tighten your bolts up that tight aye !

Drill holes at the end of each crack to stop the crack from spreading. Large holes

then ruff the back of the fairing up with course sand paper / file.

Then drill lots of small holes throughout the cracked bit.

Then do some fiberglassing on the back - like a gusset plate.

The holes and rough surface will give a strong key for the fiberglass to stick to.

Then sand the out side smooth - start out with a 200 grit and then resand the area with 300, then again with 400 then again with 600

    then prime and paint.

Lots of work and time required. But easy to do.
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot

If you say either "I can" or "I can't" your correct.

Honestly I cannot take you seriously with your hair standing up like that. Even though it's a sound advice.
