    For Sale: CBR600RR race bike

    SOLD!!!!!

    ...to Clivoris

    CBR600RR ‘03/’04 model

    Extras:

Has the improved ‘05/’06 engine – apparently a better head design than the older gen giving better midrange power
Ohlins 46PRXLS shock (serviced, with receipts)
Racetech fork internals done by Robert Taylor (have receipts)
    Hyperpro RSC dual-rate steering damper
    Arrow full system exhaust
PC3 custom mapped by GP Honda
F1 Engineering rearsets – great product, don’t seem to shatter like some of the big name overseas brands that I’ve seen
    Woodcraft crash bungs
    Cam-tensioner mod
Practically the full range of front and rear 520 sprockets needed for NZ tracks and street circuits
2 meet old Renthal self-regulating chain
Also has a bit of road gear…definitely a head light and indicators and possibly a bit more
Spare rims in very good condition with discs both ends

    Spares:
    Spare engine covers both sides
    Spare swingarm (brand new)
    Spare dash
    Different weight Ohlins shock springs
Different weight forks springs (Traxxion or Racetech from memory)
    Stock rear shock
Footpegs, sprocket carrier, heaps of other stuff

    Service History:
Has had oil (full synthetic) and filter changes after no more than 2 days’ use. I used to do it after every day but that was just overkill
Rear shock serviced and valved by SuspensionTech per RT specs early to mid-08
Forks upgraded with Racetech stuff and new oil late-08
Head taken off the engine, bores inspected, shims and tappets done plus a few other things by Warren Bridge 2H08. Warren said that the bores still had machining marks and were basically like new

    The bad:
Fairings are pretty average quality in fit and finish – although better now that a professional generously touched them up and strengthened them
Engine covers scratched both sides – but have good condition spares as mentioned above
The shitty little stock dash mounts are broken and I have just wired the dash to the front subframe
I’m not gonna lie, it’s been crashed. But seriously most of them were piddly little low-sides that did nothing but scratch plastic. One major crash bent forks and front wheel which were both replaced. A high side on some oil at Wanganui08 broke a footpeg bracket and front subframe both of which were replaced.

    The good:
If it looked mint you’d pay more!!!
Great handling bike – and a few at the Nationals commented on how nice it looked to handle.
Especially good fun at street circuits.
Not made of cheese metal like the new ones
It’s cheaper than a new one so you can buy it then actually afford to ride it

Would be a great bike for a first time racer or serious track dayer.

Welcome to view. Bike will be in Whangaparoa, 45 mins North of Auckland. Viewing welcome.

PM me, text or call 029 201 2473 with any enquiries

    Cheers,

    Phil

Damn that's cheap. Although anyone would be lucky to do faster laptimes than you've managed on it Phil.

Nah mate, it's got plenty more in it. Not a single rear-end slide all Sunday at Puke...definitely a case of the rider not trying hard enough...just need more practice.

That is good buying. Would be ideal for someone like the guy who stepped off the ZX10 at the trackday yesterday. I reckon it would be an easy $2k to repair that (light damage, one side). Thats nearly half the value of this. I dont understand why more people doing trackdays dont buy an ex racebike.... you dont have to insure or register it, just a new set of tyres probably once a year and some oil changes. .... sorry, this might not be helping your sale but think of it as a free bump....

It is helping the sale, its a bump.

I am very tempted as my girlzs bike had to be replaced because of a slow lowside at t2. Very disappointing to feck around for months getting insurance sorted.

Im hoping to get a bike smiliar to this in the near future.

All the best with the sale looks very well priced

Cheers guys. Yes, I think it is well priced. It's not a minter, but I'm not asking minter money!

There is a similar bike on trademe for $7,500 with the uprated suspension costing extra on top of that.

I'll probably stick my one on trademe before the end of this week.

Added some from Wanganui just now

No close ups, sorry, but I have tried to describe it as accurately as possible above. Also forgot to mention that the swingarm is missing one bobbin mount, but also remember that the package comes with a brand new swingarm.

Good luck with the sale. Bump.
It’s diametrically opposed to the sanitised existence of the Lemmings around me in the Dilbert Cartoon hell I live in; it’s life at full volume, perfect colour with high resolution and 10,000 watts of amplification.
