World of Music, Arts and Dance (WOMAD) is an organization founded in 1980 by Peter Gabriel, Thomas Brooman, and Bob Hooton. It was founded on the basis that many others would share their enthusiasm for music from other cultures, if only they had the opportunity to listen to some of the global sounds. The concept evolved from an idea Gabriel had at a concert involving an African group. This then developed into a much larger event incorporating music from all over the world.

    Then it's not food.

Thanks for the kind offer. I didn't make it to NP.
Got lots of bad stuff instead. Mostly lots of work related doo doo.
I hope you had as good a time as my friends did.

Whew- good to be home!- I saw a dude wearing a Paeroa battle of the streets t shirt loitering in front of our stall. I wondered if it was you
we had an amazing weekend at WOMAD as usual, worked our asses off from 8am till midnight three days in a row then worked on till 4.30 am on monday to get all our stuff washed and repacked to head home.

Naki Rat- you have awesome taste- theey were both my faves! they both played on the Brooklands stage smack right in front of us!
But also the dudes who have formed the Little Bushmen rocked too.
Last year I saw KORA for the first time at WOMAD-

    Ive just done some calculations....
Our big cooking pots hold 60 litres. over the weekend we sold 19 batches of Vege curry and the same of rice- that is 1140 litres of curry and the same of rice- 2.2 tonnes! we made and sold 2000 vegetable samosas and 300 apple samosas.
960 punnets of chips, plus all the orangejuices, water and chai teas. we had a girl just prepping salad ingredients and vegitables for 15 hours a day for three days.
Retired- just some guy with a few bikes......
