To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends. To appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded

Well I can certainly hear him coming home with these beasties on. It sounds bloody mean. Still trying to find time to go for a ride.

Umm, I, ah, managed to do that last weekend. Just a wee woops in a metal driveway and some humbling scratches on the side that can be made to go away
What a wicked wicked wicked bike to ride. Makes me want to go out and buy one too cause I dont like my chances (especially now ) of getting a ride often. Seriously, I have ridden it again since, but not since the front sprocket was upgraded

Saw my first 09 R1 in the flesh today ( was previously undecided if I liked its looks from photos and vids I had seen ) but it is horny...and everyone at the dealership who has had a ride on it at the track it is still saying "wow" they cant believe the difference to previous models, (yes, some may say that they would say that as they are selling it) but you can tell they meant every word and by the silly expressions on their faces while talking about the ride.
    Sounds like a fantastic bike.
    Enjoy....

    This is going to hurt...
As an all round road bike...the R1, and this is coming from a guy that LOVED his 1098S.
In saying that I'm thinking that Ohlins are going to have to make their appearance sooner than later but then again I've been a bit spoilt when it comes to good suspension etc of late.
With the new Two Bro's cans it has really woken her up a bit and that noise...FFS...oral porn!!
Only problem is finding manufacturers that have actually produced some after market blingage for my R1. I'm not so good at waiting for stuff

All in all I have to say that it's the best all round bike I have ever owned

That's high praise indeed. Perhaps I better not take one for a test ride, I simply don't have the money.
