Me too. But he will possibly say at one point (you can bring it up even), that sometimes he wishes that after more than 10 years of teaching the subject, that he never started. Sometimes it is better to just be ignorant to some of the stuff you look into. And I agree fully on that point. I cannot watch movies or tv etc now without doing many things unintentionally. Some of them are due to taking media class.
1, of course is I cannot ignore the music. I just get caught up in and can sometimes miss half a film just because I'm so caught up in the music (which half the time nobody else even notices).
2, is Freudian imagery and symbols. A bad choice of words maybe, but they just jump out at me and I can't ignore them.
3, is with comedy generally, but I cannot watch most comedy without analysing it deeper than what's funny. I have to figure out exactly why it's funny, and how as well. Although I'm generally more interested in the why (which is perhaps why I enjoy philosophy better than science and religion - considering sci and rel are about how, where as philosophy is about why).
