There is a workaround for this, which I discovered after having the same experience as yourself munster. Cats seem to attack the plants more when they are young. My first plantings were annihilated in about two days flat. When I replanted I put wire netting over the small plants. Once they grew big I took the netting off and the plants survived for years. The cats seemed less interested once the plants grew bigger as well...

My pussy has a thing for styrofoam & (smelly shirts too, grot). First discovered in the xmas of 1999. Cheap decorations began to go missing. Advanced to foam cups & packing foam. He doesn't eat it, just shreads it, then walks away. He has been known to steal & hid bits. Our Main Coon 'Bonaparte' ate bees as a kitten & our last boy loved chilli salsa sauce.

I thought my cat was weird but this is odd ... googled the topic seems a few cats react to it in the same way ... one of the few answers to the question was that it smells like something in their urine that is linked territory marking and shagging ?#@! Maybe the person who gave that answer was taking the piss but it has some logic to it.

I certainly considered that option, but that's the boring answer. It would be much more interesting if it's true.

Anyway, it's not often you get to discuss the difference between oxygen and chlorine bleach so I wasn't going to pass that up!
