How? Getting the wheel off is easy peasy, but how do you check that the alignment is spot on when it comes to replacing?

"I'm sorry, is this a five minute argument, or the full half hour?"
if you dont adjust the chain then it should go back on where it came off.
Are the chain adjustment markers not there or are you concerned that they are not level with either side?

It can be common that your alignment marks are out....with my bike there is a 15mm differance to what the marks say & the true alignment with the front wheel
I think theres a link on here somewhere, try a search, then try google...
It invloves measuring from the ends of your bars to a fixed point on yer chassis(footpeg, centre of s/arm pivot point) to get your bars straight, then either using string or a long enuff straightedge laid along the edges(fore& aft) of yer rear tyre, project that fwd past your front tyre....measure from string/s-edge to your rim & youll probably be surprised
The Heart is the drum keeping time for everyone....
Certain bike store 'Yeah, see this small wobble in your rear sprocket? Yep. That's what's busting the o-rings on your chain.'
Turnedout out to be back wheel out of line by 7 full turns of the right sides adjuster...
If you can get your hands on two long straight edges you can put them on either side of the rear wheel and run them up next to the front wheel.
You can see if the alignment is off by checking if the front wheel is centred between the straight edges.
get a bike with a single sided swing arm no issues lol
