Got an update from these guys today and circuit management are expecting completion of the track in October. I'm looking forward to riding this one!

Hi Graham, I see on their site "On the last Sunday of every month tours will be taken of the facility at 1.00 pm. The next tour will be August 30th 2009"

Hi Jacko, yes mate they are saying August but the last Sunday of July is the 26th! I'll drop then a line and see if they have flagged the July one. Busy on the ART track day on the 30th August..............plug plug

went down to my local tyre shop today and they had been doing some work for the project managers truck he told me they were looking at October but he had a core sample which sounds really cool it was a little spongy but it had lots of Silica in it which will be good for grip

Haha, no that was the RC8 which I test rode further than the dairy today. Will post up some proper pics riding it tomorrow on this thread:

I'm going on one of the Hampton Downs Ride Days so I'm looking forward to seeing how the track is, will be using one of their 600 Suzuki's from Motorcycling Events Group.

On the subject of cost I've just done a quick comparison with Aussie tracks and the UK... (using todays exchange rate)

By comparison a day at Taupo is a bargain (even more so at somewhere like Manfield).

Considering Hampton Downs is a supposed to be a world class venue, as good as the best international circuits then $199 would seem reasonable. For me at least it works out cheaper than Taupo. However, as someone said above there would seem to be a considerable profit margin at this price so I think its right to expect the very best from this firm.

One further point of interest here is the provision of hire bikes. New GSXR600's at $350 per day with limited damage liability. This is a very viable option for anyone considering a new bike. The cost includes tyres and fuel. Just turn up and ride. If you were to buy such a bike and do, say, 10 trackdays on it it would cost considerably more than to hire one when you look at the cost of purchase and consumables and insurance etc. It also gives the opportunity to hire a bike that you may not be able to afford or would consider as a road bike. I think thats a good deal and is good for expanding participants in trackdays.

So far so good... but people will expect the best from these days.

I'm keen to rent a Gixxer 600, much better suited to this than my SV!

Im definately keen on doing one of these rider days. Wonder if they'll have a photographer down there? Would probably need a golf cart or something to get around the outfield on.

The cost for the track day is $199.00 and the cost per day for the school is $429.00 if you bring your own bike and gear. You can get two days of world class tuition and a ride day for $1,057.

Bound to be worth it in the long run aye!

Had it confirmed and they have changed the Web site, next track tour is this Sunday...........weather looks good too!!!

Yes, there's only about 100m of tarmac down at the moment. The previous dates wouldn't have given the track enough time to settle and get rid of the oils n shite.
