When I was a kid I used to thumb through Faller Model Railway catalogues and marvel at the dioramas.
Fashioned from plaster and styrene - to an Aussie kid they just seemed so 'improbable'.

I have boated the river a few time... if i remember i will post some more pics from the other direction at the waterline when i get home...

And yet the away from the bridge is a complete contrast:

Time for a coffee trip up there - it's only about 150-160 kms from Christchurch. A nice trip too.

Hanmer Springs is great for a long weekend with the family - hire a holiday house (cheaper than a motel!) and chill out.
