My dad was paranoid of me falling and destroying the fairings, so I took them all of, so it wasn't very aerodynamic. The wind was hitting the speedo and tacho, and my helmet was being pushed up and I was being strangled. I'll leave them on next time and get some nylon bungs to protect them (Manfield Winter SeriesOriginally Posted by justsomeguy

Really? You must have some really nice fairings then.........Originally Posted by alarumba

New pistons are great, the power boosts quite significantlyOriginally Posted by justsomeguy
At least, that was the case with my KX
Not anymore, after that, I've fallen a number of times, and tried using model glue to fix them. Worked for the mirror support thingy, but not for the fairings.Originally Posted by justsomeguy
Also, at the track day, I might've been able to go faster without the fairings if i wasn't for the stupid pace bike, everytime I got to 160, I had to pull back to 120![]()
dunno - you'd have to ask CK - it was his orignally (i think)

Sorry to hear about the ZZR choking on the lolly and loosing oil. Hope its not a major repair job.
i just got a 96 zzr 250, has been going great! i was wondering about how to make it go faster. but then i went for a ride today with about 30 guys n gals around the central north island and i could keep up pretty well. i would be riding with all these bigger bikes in the straights and then when the twistes came after about 5 mins i looked back and no one was there, so it can hold its own, but in saying that after the twisties all these bigger bikes wer crusing at about $140 and it was pretty hard to keep up. so yeah it was real good. ive started wondering about ajusting the rear susp. (not sure how to yet) and lil things like that. i should probly get it serviced too, its done 50k and seems to be right, but i wont be happy till i no wot sorta condition its in. seems to go alright tho. good luck with your bike tho, hope it doesnt cost too much!! (p.s does anyone know where i can get a cheap pair of second hand zzr250 pipes from, mine are a bit naft!)
